Fair-Nando bananas

Nando bananas

Fair Nando bananas launch as Fairtrade awareness grows in New Zealand.

As awareness of Fairtrade in New Zealand grows, so does consumers desire to purchase ethically sourced products.

The launch of Fair-Nando bananas into Countdown supermarkets over the past week demonstrates New Zealand consumer’s desire to choose Fairtrade, and with Fair Trade Fortnight in full swing will also help raise awareness of Fairtrade and what it delivers to growers and their communities in developing countries.

‘Fairtrade fortnight is NZ's biggest annual awareness raising campaign and runs from 4th – 19th May with World Fair Trade Day on the 11th May. This year the call to action is "Fairtrade Karma; Buy Fairtrade and Good Things Will Happen".

The more Fairtrade Certified products we buy in NZ, the greater the improvement to the standard of living for farmers & workers, & their families & communities in developing countries’ says Steve Knapp, CEO, Fairtrade ANZ.

The Fair-Nando bananas will be displayed with other Fairtrade products in Countdown supermarkets throughout Fair Trade Fortnight highlighting the growth of Fairtrade in the grocery sector.
