Rangitoto School in Te Kuiti has just received a new iPad Air thanks to a winning mum.

Jessica Harris of Te Kuiti, winner of a nationwide goodfoodgame competition sponsored by Pukekohe potato growers Balle Bros, was enthusiastic to nominate the school her two boys attend to receive the prize. She said "Rangitoto is such a awesome school, wonderful students and teachers totally deserving of such a gorgeous prize."

School principle Scott Lincoln said "On behalf of Rangitoto School we are extremely excited that Jessica nominated our school for the prize. We are already using iPads to assist students with their learning and one more makes it even better as the students have to share them. We use them to record their learning on, research reading content, practice their basic facts and even design and trial out electrical circuits and explore how more devices effect the available voltage in the circuit."

The competition was open to parents, pupils and staff of schools and early childhood centers and received entries from throughout New Zealand. It was specifically designed to promote eating fresh vegetables and provide the opportunity for the winner to do 'something cool for their favorite school' by nominating it to receive the prize.  Balle Bros linked the 'Find the farm' competition to it's Lucky Sod brand of potatoes.

Based on the enthusiastic response and success of the competition the goodfoodgame is developing another one based on the same format and asking schools what kind of prizes would be most beneficial to them.
