Cyclone Pam hits Vanuatu
Our thoughts are with the people of Vanuatu and our friends in Havannah Harbour as the group of islands braces for the impact of Tropical Cyclone Pam.
Weather forecasters warn that it will intensify into a category 5 ‘super-cyclone’ with wind gusts of around 300kph, torrential rain, flooding and a huge storm surge. The life threatening storm is likely to cause widespread damage to dwellings and infrastructure as well as devastate crops and impact on the local food supply for some time, especially in outlying villages.
